Chapter 2 - Object creation and
manipulation
After you start manipulating objects in the 3D Viewport, the next step is
to go beyond simple selections and move to basic modeling and
transformations. In this chapter, we start using some of the tools Blender
has to transform 3D objects.
A transformation in a 3D space could be either a move, rotation, or
scale. Those are the three fundamental transformations we can apply to
any tridimensional element or object.
By using those transformations, you will be able to reorganize a scene
and place objects whenever you want. Besides transformations, you
also learn how to add new objects in the 3D Viewport.
At the end of this chapter, you will feel more comfortable with 3D object
manipulation and creation.
Here is a list of what you will learn:
How to create objects in the 3D Viewport
Duplicate existing objects
Use transformations like move, rotate, and scale
Take advantage of the Undo history of Blender
Start using Edit Mode for object manipulation
Control object origins with the Snap
